Jibreel Sarij is an accomplished entrepreneur and corporate executive.
Jibreel is the chief executive officer and founder of Acutis Diagnostics. Over the past
six years, he has led a team of scientists and business professionals at Acutis from
start-up stage to an innovative diagnostic and biosciences company. Within its first
six years, Acutis have served over 1 million patients. This milestone was achieved
by a culturally diverse team which numbers over 200 professionals with over half of
management represented by female professionals.
Today, Acutis is expanding into new areas to improve cancer treatment with better
detection of cancer mutation to guide treatment and through specialty laboratory
services for the biopharmaceutical sector.
Jibreel’s work in healthcare follows his career in specialty finance and business
advisory. Most recently, Jibreel was co-founder and Executive Vice President of CGI,
a joint venture with a multilateral bank, IDB, owned by 56 countries. At CGI, Jibreel
led a portfolio of international public-private partnership companies.
His early corporate experiences are as Associate Director and early employee for
Scient, a Silicon Valley backed start-up that went on to a successful IPO, and a Vice
President with JPMorganChase.
Jibreel holds a Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering from Columbia University
and a Masters degree in Business Administration from Columbia University.
Over his career, Jibreel has worked internationally in France, Canada, the United
Kingdom, Singapore, Malaysia, Oman and Qatar, amongst other countries.
A native of Afghanistan, Jibreel draws inspiration from the transformative
experience of immigrating to the United States and he maintains an enduring love
for the people of Afghanistan.
